New Bear Update

So I have been looking for the material for Kyle to make my new bear out of. The thing is I wanted the same material as the other 2 bears, but in purple this time (as purple is my fav colour). So I had bought this material at Fabricland, and so I went back to get some more in purple. So we have officially gone to 5 stores just to find that they don't sell that pattern of material any more. But you would think that they would have told us that at the first store when we asked, but no they said to try another one since they didn't have a large selection at their store. Well after being told to look at the next store, look at the next store, at the last store we were told they no longer make it and what ever they have on their shelves is the last of it. Well they did indeed have that material on the self, in green/red/or pink. So now I am not sure what to do, I guess I can look at Fabriclands where ever I may be until I find a pattern material that will work and hope that eventually I will come across 2 or 3 meters of purple. Maybe this is some sort of sign that I shouldn't get rid of Bluetooth, or maybe it is simply that it was almost 5 years ago that I bought the material so it would eventually happen that they don't sell it anymore. Either way it doesn't look like I will be making that new bear anytime soon.

Long Day, Lots of Pain

So as some people close to me know, I had dental surgery today. Well that didn't go the way it was supposed to. To spare the disgusting details that I unfortunately got to witness, not much got done. The post from the broken tooth was removed through a hole drilled into the back of said tooth, and that was pretty much it. After an hour the Dr said that he couldn't finish so left the back of the tooth open. How open could that be you might ask, well the post was put in following an emergency root canal 10 years ago. So said hole goes all the way up to the top, fun stuff. So I was ok, I mean the Dr said one month and he will close it, just fine I can do a liquid diet for like 1 month. Oh if only it were that easy. There were no appointments available until...get this...Oct 6. Yeah so like just over 2 months of open hole tooth. The first day has gone terrible, but Kyle bless him has been so caring. I have been moody and mean and crying since the freezing came out, and lots of periods of sleeping. But he has been trying to get some foods that I am able to eat without hitting that freshly open tooth. I am however thinking that even though I don't trust Tylenol or any medicine it may almost be time to think about something for the pain. However Tylenol, or any pain medicine, will knock me out for 3 days at a time. Kyle would enjoy such peace and quiet around here! I shall be off to lay back down now....I am just happy to have my blankey and Bluetooth right now to cry into and suggle. The new bear updates will come maybe later this week...

Planet Laura

So I figured that a post about me is a bit over due, I am not sure where to start but here I go...
My birthday is December 2nd, and I am currently 21. I have been a member of the church for 6 and a half years now. I have been married for almost 2 years now, and Kyle and I have been together for almost 5 years total. Kyle and I were married on October 20th in the Toronto Ontario Temple. I love my pjs, and I have alot of them. I love shopping "over the river" for everything, mainly because I am so cheap and things seem less expensive there. Though I am a big girl now, I am still very much so afraid of the dark, maybe even more so than I was when I was young. I have had many pets in my life, I love animals. I have had 2 dogs, 1 lizard, 1 love bird, 3 guinea pigs, 1 cat, 1 racing pigeon and several fish. Currently though I only have that 1 cat, she is (as you have read in other posts) Sugar Petals. I also love music, I have put all my cds on my computer and download others and have quite the play list now, 3530 songs. I love all types of music, I try to like 1 song from any band so that I can always talk to someone about their fav music. The first song I learned to sing was There's a Tear in My Beer by Hank Williams Sr & Jr. I am mainly into country, Britney Spears, and Madonna, though I also like to listen to punk music. I love food, if I had to choose 1 food to live on for the rest of my life I would have to say Quiznos Meatball Subs. I like Pepsi, but most pop is good, and I love fresh juice (mainly apple or orange). I sing in the shower, really loud and I am not ashamed to admit it. I love to just relax and watch tv, but I am forgetful of times and channels so I have a piece of paper taped to the tv to tell me what to watch. I prefer fruits over candies and snacks but I would gladly eat anything sweet I was given. I grew my hair out to my butt, then cut it short, now I miss it and am trying to grow it back. I learned to play the clarinet but I never bought one so I never kept it up, though I have recently thought of buying one to increase my talents. Talents that is something I don't have currently. I started reading the Bible at 11, and understood it, I guess that is a talent, but maybe better as a God-given gift. I have to be like the only person on the planet to not have a cell phone. However I have a computer and a lap top so I guess I am lucky that way. Oh a talent there, I built my own computer, as well as a computer for my parents. My absolute fav is Christmas shopping, I love the spirit, music, atmosphere, snow, everything about it. Christmas is always perfect and I work hard at that. I have never been on a plane before, and I don't travel much. With my family it was usually to the trailer or somewhere else to fish and back, but I did go to Ohio with some of Kyle's family to go to Cedar Point. I look forward to one day getting to Utah and California to visit family, especially my niece whom I have yet to meet. I have my ears pierced, with an extra ear ring in the top right ear. I have really only had one real job, I worked at 2 stores on Clifton Hill in Niagara Falls. I have been to 1 real concert, Hanson in Toronto. I am very shy and don't make friends easily because of that. I am pretty sure you can see that I have a short attention span by the way I jump subjects, I do this in normal conversation as well. Only my little sister Jessica and Kyle and follow my train of thought since it goes all over and at times jumps back without connection. Ah my family, I have a mom and dad, Brenda and Don, and only 1 little sister Jessica. We always asked for the gift of a little baby brother when it was our birthdays or Christmas (we still do to this day). We named him James Edwin, after my father and grandfathers middle names, he was going to play baseball and hit home runs dedicated to his 2 awesome big sisters. I have a wild imagination, which gets me in trouble when paired with my sisters wild imagination. That is pretty much it about me. If you have any questions I would be happy to answer them.

Awesome Storm, Terrible Results

So last night while my companion and I were visiting teaching, and Kyle was babysitting her kids there was a thunderstorm. Now this was the most fantastic storm I have ever seen. It was good, I loved it. I had a little worry in the back of my mind as I seen the power go out that the power supply box Kyle has hooked up to the computers was going off and that is quite the alarm. So once finished visiting teaching, Heidi and I went back to her place and waited out the storm so Kyle and I wouldn't have to drive in such a terrible down pour. Well eventually it did slow down and we made our way home, the whole 5 blocks. Well half an hour and several U turns later we were home. Between our 2 homes there are lots of low spots and well that leads to alot of flooding and police turning you around, so we had to take the very long way home, which was also flooded but not as deep as the other ways (one of which was up half way through a cars windshield). So a story is what we called it, we laughed and thought that it was all fun...until...we got home to realize the windows were open. Now we have been here for 2 years and never had rain come in the windows, but I guess there is a first time for everything. So today is a dry out day, in our room the rain came in and flooded half way across the floor and came in on our tv/vcr/dvd set up so lets hope nothing is broken there, then in the living room our box fan was full of water, the kitchen rug was cleaned with the water but the wooden chairs need to be refinished now that there are such terrible water stains, and the spare room oh why did I ever think that leaving the bed under the window was a good idea? The mattress isn't too bad but we have a bathtub full of pillows/sheets/ and other assorted bed things trying to dry. So maybe this will teach me what Kyle always tells me, that in an infinite time line everything is inevitable. I wish I would listen more often, I mean I did have 2 years experience on my side saying rain wouldn't come in the window but it had to happen sometime.

New Bear Wins

So I have decided that I will indeed get a new bear and shelf Bluetooth. It was a hard choice but I am happy with it, and really excited to get her and make some memories. Yes, you read that right it is a girl, her name will be ATi (pronounced atty). I am currently looking for the material, which I hope I can find in purple. I have decided that her accessories will be 2 bows on her ears, one made of Bluetooth material, and the other made of Pentium material.

Nothing else much is new around here. We are back at markets. I do not like the heat or the long day, but I love fruit and having a little extra money at the end of the month. I want to try to get some pictures while I am there one time, but it always seems busy and I get distracted and just never do it. Oh well if I do I shall post some, if not then you will have to imagine all the delish fresh fruit.

New Bear or Old Bear?Too Big of a Decision

Ok so for our 1 year dating anniversary Kyle made me a teddy bear. He had worked on this bear for over 6 months, even bringing it in to the cafe he worked at so that when he wasn't busy he could be sewing it. He is blue and at the time I was helping Kyle by doing some reading of a text book and helping him with the homework assigned from the book. One of the things that that class was about was Bluetooth technology, so Kyle named the bear Bluetooth when he gave it to me. I sleep with this bear every night, and drag him everywhere I go. He has been almost everywhere I have; college, Ohio, Time Out for Women pretty much anywhere I go that I would sleep over. I love this bear to pieces, literally. He is now almost 4 years old and alot less blue than he came. He has been chewed by my dog, dropped in dirt pretty much what a toy would go through with a child. So needless to say he has need of constant and extensive repairs. He needs stuffing according to Kyle, but I make the excuse that he went of a diet and therefore doesn't want to be fattened again. Last week as I snuggled him to fall asleep I noticed that there seemed to be a little hole, well once the lights were turned back on his entire arm had almost come off. So Kyle took him the next day and fixed him. Then came the sad part, he sat me down and said it was time for Bluetooth to go on the shelf, he had too much love that he wasn't prepared for and that he wasn't going to last much longer. Of course I am a big baby, so I started crying and squeezing my bear tight screaming "you can't take him from me", I ran to bed and closed the door. Kyle had tried last summer to replace Bluetooth by making me a Koala Bear, which he thought would be good because then it wasn't really replacing him if it was a different animal. She was a pink Koala that Kyle named Pentium, or Penny for short. Well Bluetooth was shelved for a week until I loved Penny till her head came clean off.
So now faced with the decision of do I keep Bluetooth with me and eventually there will be nothing left, or do I shelf him and Kyle make me a new bear that way Bluetooth will be around forever, I can't decide. At first I wanted a new bear, he would be purple, with either a green bow tie or a green vest. However since thinking about it I don't want to let go of the bear I have so many memories with.
The pictures are of the paws Kyle sewed by hand at work, the first picture of Bluetooth when I got him (the sock monkey I made for Kyle his name is Network Pete), and finally what Bluetooth looks like now.

Sugar Petals Eady

So yesterday being 1 year since we brought Sugar home I got to thinking about how much she has changed. And last night as I went to bed I remembered that terrible first night. Stupidly Kyle and I thought that we could just give her the spare room with food water and a litter box and she would be good, hahahhaa NOT! She cried so loud all night and nothing seemed to make her happy, even me getting up and sleeping in the spare room with her. She just wouldn't let up on the crying. Last night 1 year later she wants nothing to do with sleeping with us in bed, she now has taken to sleeping in our bedroom window as some sort of guard. She is too special for words this one. I shall regale you with the story as to how she came to be our cat.

So last July we had decided to get a cat after my Grandparents and Parents had each gotten one. I wanted an orange cat that was female, even though I knew females don't come in orange. So that took some looking, on my mothers part only, I wasn't looking at all. I was happy to let some one else track down a cat. She called from the trailer on Rice Lake to tell me the small town near by had some orange cats at the Humane Society. So that following weekend we drove up for a vacation and a cat. We spent the morning saturday looking at cats and I found nothing. I was about to say that there was no cat good enough for me when out of nowhere Mr. "Who needs a cat?" Kyle says he has found the one. Apparently while I was looking she was in the cage behind him and she grabbed his sweater and pulled him in. She was the runt of the litter and named Coral (her litter had a Nemo theme). He snatched her from the cage and they snuggled right there with him demanding that I sign the papers so they could be together. So I did and by the time I was done Kyle wanted to go and buy things for her, I didn't get any time with her and I was mad. I didn't want a tori I wanted orange. But what could I say Kyle was in love and well he didn't want a cat in the first place so I needed to go with what he wanted so I could get one. We picked her up the next afternoon and brought her back to the trailer so we could pack and get ready to head back to Kitchener (not to mention that there was a bbq so we NEEDED to stay at least for dinner!) I learned more about my kitten like she had been born on Good Friday that year, a very important point for me as that made her extra special. We had originally called her Scribbles because of all her colours but as we played with her that night and we all got to know eachother we thought her just the sweetest little thing so we did a quick name change to Sugar and to make it a little more girly we added the middle name Petals. I have come to love her like my baby, and that is how she is treated around here (which explains the spoiledness). She is one of the family and even has her own chair at the table so that she can join in dinner conversation and maybe have a little food off one of our plates! She was such a little bean when we got her but now she is a big baby.
Looking at the pictures, the day we brought her home and the most recent from last week, she doesn't even look like the same cat.
Anyways that the story of how Sugar came to be here, though I guess we didn't pick her as much as she picked Kyle and he fell in love with a tiny little kitten.

Miss Sugar Petals the Princess

So upon waking up, as I do most every morning, I find my dear little kitten being the most naughty little thing in the world. She went crazy when Kyle went to work today, scratching at the screen and crying loudly out the window at 6AM!!!!! So what could be naughtier than that you may ask, well Miss Petals LOVES mint. I know a cat that is obsessed with mint how odd, but that would be the way my pets have always been, especially the love bird who loved pizza but that was about it, she would run at the cage to try to get out to kill you, stupid bird I miss her. Anyways back to the story, I found my purse emptied on the living room floor and Sugar sneeking gums out of the purse. Gah doesn't she know how much gum costs me??? I have to drive all the way to my Mom's house to steal a pack. So after a large scolding she was good for all of 5 minutes as she went to time out on the bed (I love that when I scold her she goes and lays on the bed for 5mins and then comes back to me and gives kisses and cuddles) she proceeds to go to where the purse was now where just my flip flops lay and she starts attacking my flip flops, biting and scratching. I couldn't believe that my baby would be so bad, I didn't yell at her for the shoes though as I want new ones and if she destroys those Kyle will have to buy me new ones. After such a morning I look over at my partner Miss Sugar Petals as she sleeps near my feet and think how could such an angel ever be so bad, then I shall wake up tomorrow to a new situation of some stupid proportion.

ZooZ Trip

So I got to go to ZooZ on the Canada Day long weekend, that was something else as we decided to do the "nice" thing and take my younger cousin. This was an experiment in parenting that resulted in a "may-be later" answer for when will we walk down that parenthood path. So it was all good all day, despite some rain and a VERY hyper 10 year old. Then as if to make an parenting exam out of a parenting experience (proving Heavenly Fathers sense of humour) it POURED. And I mean poured, and the wind picked up and the only thing I was left thinking was "well at least it wasn't snowing" as it did feel so cold it could snow. Kyle then decided to take Andrew to the gift shop, hahahaha stupid, he clearly hasn't been around kids. Pouring rain and a full zoo into a gift shop with a kid that has $25 in his pocket! Hahaha, that my friends is the reason why Kyle has soured on the having kids vision. So after waiting in the car for over an hour they were done in the gift shop and ready to go home. I was not impressed with Zooz if only due to the fact when we got there all the big cats were sleeping and by the time we had seen all the animals it was raining and time to go. The bald eagles were my favourites, but the kangaroo and foxes were cool as well. That trip probably could have been better had we not stayed up till 3am watching Batman Begins, and Jess staying out later than that.
Oh well it was yet another experience in my life that will possibly never happen again. This year seems to be the time for my "experiences", like when I stayed over in a hotel room with my mother in law Sylvia and her friend, indeed sleeping with Sylvia was something I didn't ever see me doing and well I don't ever see me doing again.
Well I got the tickets for free, and a free lunch, so it was indeed not all a loss.
